"I got this recipe at my wedding shower and it is a great hit. DH isn't allowed to bring anything else to his potlucks at work and everyone looks for them at church potlucks too!Really easy, but really good! We prefer all beef meatballs, but that is just personal preference. Pepper jelly is good if you like a bit spicy. I often use all the little bits of jelly left in the fridge to equal 12oz. DH likes to use apricot jelly the best. If you have any leftover, they are great over noodles."

  • 4 lbs frozen mini meatballs
  • 18 ounces barbecue sauce
  • 12 ounces jelly
  • 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple tidbits, drained

directions

  • Put meatballs into crockpot and cover with barbecue sauce and jelly.
  • Cook on high for 1-2 hours.
  • Stir meatballs and top with drained pineapple. Cook on low for 4-6 hours longer before serving.

    These were fabulous!! I took your advice and used apricot preserves, and I used Sweet Baby Ray's sweet and spicy BBQ sauce. The spicy BBQ sauce was perfect with the sweet apricot preserves and pineapple. I will definitely make these again!

    This was the first time I tried frozen meatballs. I bought ones that had better on-line reviews. They had the flavor of ground cardboard. Didn't taste much in the dish besides BBQ sauce. If you still decide to try it, by all means make your own meatballs !

    Great meatballs! Made with apricot jam and crushed pineapple since that is what was in the cupboard. Great flavor and not too sweet. Served for lunch over penne pasta. Made for October 2012 Think Pink Tag.

    Absolutely wonderful! I have made meatballs many times using grape jelly and BBQ sauce but using the apricot and then adding in pineapple was just fabulous. Great taste. The 1st time I tried these on the stove but forgot to reduce the heat enough and they burned. The 2nd time in a crock pot worked perfectly and no burning of the sauce. They were gobbled up quickly!     I made these for a holiday party, and we all loved them! I couldn't find pineapple tidbits, so I just used crushed pineapple. It was delicious; my kids had the leftover ones as snacks and meatball subs over the next couple of days. They just asked me to make them again.

<p>I live in a part of North Carolina that's close enough to Raleigh to commute, but far enough away to seem like another world. I am loving small town living; I spent the first 38 years of my life as a suburbs girl in Florida. I love going to a small church and the fact that in a few years here we almost always run into someone we know when we go into town. I can't imagine living anywhere else now! <br />I work for a major computer storage company keeping one of our larger customers happy from a support (after the sale) perspective. My title doesn't really explain what I do, but the best way I've found to describe my work is that if everyone did what they were supposed to do, I would be out of work! <br />I don't get to cook as much as I'd like to, but when I can, I love to try new recipes! I'm always looking for great make ahead or CrockPot recipes that accomodate my crazy work. I love the feature on 'Zaar where you can find recipes by searching for an ingredient. I've come up with more dinner ideas that way! <br />I'm blessed with a husband who is always willing to try new things, but who is also happy to eat PBJ every night.
